My Circle is a private photo & file sharing app with no backend. Every photo, file, and circle you create lives exclusively in your Google Drive — not on our servers, not in our database, not accessible to us.
When you share something with a circle, you're sharing a Drive folder directly with those people via Google's own permission system. When they view it, they're reading from your Drive. Delete it, and it's gone everywhere.
How it works
- Circles and collections are folders in your Drive under
mycircle/ - Sharing = Google Drive's native share permissions — no middleman
- Comments use the Google Drive Comments API, stored on the file itself
- Likes are a
reactions.jsonfile inside each collection folder - Your friend list lives in
mycircle/contacts/friends.json— readable only by you
Privacy
We request the drive scope to read and write files in your Drive. We only touch files inside the mycircle/ folder we create for you. OAuth tokens are stored in sessionStorage only — they are cleared when you close the tab. No telemetry, no analytics, no tracking of any kind.
